Rauni Barros Da Silva

 

I am a young creative practinioner who express his creaivity through art, film and sports.

 

I was born in Brazil and moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 7.

Since a young age I've been very heavily influence by animation, especially Japanese anime such as Saint Seiya, 1986 by  Masami Kurumada and the Dragonball (Z and GT) franchise, 1984 by Akira Toriyama. I was also of course, like many other children exposed to Disney and all its magical advertures. Films like The Lion King (1994), Hercules (1997), Peter Pan (1953) and many others have taken a place in my life and I feel that this comes out in my personality, in the way that I'm a very interested in child like activities and things that most people would say that they are too old for. 

 

I have been active with a video camera since I was 14 and since have loved creating wacky short films and videos. Since begining my journey with a camera I enroled to do Braodcasting at University so i could make a living out of my passion for working behind a camera.

Another one of my passions is Basketball. I began playing basketball in Oxford, UK and have travelled to play for teams in Texas, USA and Barcelona, Spain. Both of which had fairly high level of competition. Coming back to the UK to start university, I continue to play basketball at a good competitive level.

 

I decided to start this novel after watching the recently made, The Hobbit (2012) movie and playing a video game by Square Enix and Disney called Kingdom Hearts. The idea of combining many different story lines into an epic Hobbit/ Lord of the Rings like adventure seemed amazing to me and it was something I easily and quickly got excited about.
